Language
Cuba has a very low immigrant population, meaning Cuban Spanish, considered to be a Spanish dialect, is pretty much the only language spoken by citizens. Languages like Creole, French, English and Chinese are present, but much less common.
Many of Cubans have at least some grasp of English and, occasionally, Cubans learn foreign tongues while working abroad. Though Cuban Spanish itself is a dialect, it is broken up into distinct dialects throughout the island that often make communication between Cubans of different origins difficult. This can make it challenging even for foreign tourists who speak international Spanish fluently as communication is difficult for non-native and native speakers alike.
